A Rich History Rooted in Latton

Latton Football Club, affectionately known as the “Green and Whites,” boasts a history stretching back to 1898. Founded by a group of local lads eager for a sporting outlet, the club quickly became a cornerstone of the village community. Initial matches were played on a makeshift pitch behind the old blacksmith’s forge, utilizing whatever equipment could be cobbled together. The early years were characterized by fierce local rivalries and a passionate fanbase.

1898: Formation
1898: Initial Challenges - Primarily a social club with matches.
1905: First Competitive Victory – Won the local village cup.
1923: Rise to County League - Significant investment and recruitment led to promotion.
1944-45: Wartime Suspension – The club was temporarily suspended due to World War II.
1968: Golden Era - A period of sustained success and numerous local titles.
1990s: Decline & Revival – Faced financial difficulties but a dedicated group of volunteers initiated a community-led revival.
2015: Community Stadium Launch - The club moved into its new purpose-built stadium, significantly boosting supporter numbers and allowing for increased revenue generation.

The Current Squad

Latton FC’s current squad is a blend of experienced local talent and promising young players. The club operates on a philosophy of developing youth and fostering a strong team spirit. Key players include goalkeeper Ben Carter, a commanding presence in the penalty area, and striker Liam Davies, known for his clinical finishing.
