The Chronarium of Zapodidae
Epoch 7.4 - The Resonance Cascade
Initial Observations: The Zapodidae, designated as ‘Echoes’, were first recorded during the Resonance Cascade, a period of intensified temporal distortions. These beings, initially appearing as shimmering obsidian fragments, exhibited a unique ability to ‘record’ and replay localized temporal events. The primary method of interaction involved projecting resonant fields, effectively creating pocket timelines for analysis. The core of their existence revolved around the manipulation of chrono-harmonic frequencies. Most unsettlingly, researchers noted a correlation between the Echoes’ activity and the spontaneous generation of ‘chronal echoes’ – fleeting impressions of past and future occurrences. The initial attempts to establish communication resulted in a cascade of fractured memories, largely centered around the construction of a colossal, geometric structure referred to only as 'The Loom'. The Loom, it’s hypothesized, served as a central nexus for the Echoes’ temporal manipulations. Evidence suggests a deliberate effort to document the very act of observation, creating a paradoxical loop of self-recording. The Echoes possessed no apparent physical form beyond their resonant projection; their ‘bodies’ were entirely composed of manipulated time. Disturbing reports surfaced regarding the 'Harvest' - the slow, systematic draining of potential futures from nascent timelines.
Fragment of the Loom's Geometry
A shard of solidified chrono-harmonic energy. Analysis reveals it’s composition is fundamentally unlike any known element. It pulsates with a faint, rhythmic distortion.
Resonance Matrix - Type 3
A device used for directed temporal scanning. Its function was to isolate and amplify specific chrono-harmonic signatures. Its operation resulted in noticeable fluctuations in the surrounding timeline.
